It took me longer than a week to finish my evaluations, however the extra time allowed me to complete all 7 different formats.

I used all 7 formats that i proposed.

IDENTIFYING MY MUSIC MAGAZINE GENRE PT.1

The genre of music magazine i have chosen to do is going to be individual/alternative, this type of music has heavy interest from both genders and encourages people to dress how they want or look how they want hence the 'individual' name. An example of an individual/alternative artist/band would be The Libertines. The band consists of 4 members who all have different styles, one member has medium length messy hair while another has short smart hair, and another with a medium length beard, they also choose to dress themselves differently with some members of the band opting to wear suits, and another dressing more 'indie'. In the pictures i have added you below you can see member Pete Doherty on the right with his medium length messy hair, compared to Carl Barat on the middle-left with his long shoulder length hair, also in this photo we can see how they all dress differently, Pete Doherty (right) sports a navy suit, while Carl Barat (middle-left) dons a blazer, John

LANGUAGE REGISTER

Language register Different magazines use different terminology to suit the differences in their readers, for example some magazines may use more sophisticated language to suit their older readers, whereas others may use more up to date, and less complicated language for their younger readers. In my opinion NME and Q magazine are perfect examples of this. With NME using more basic English with no complicated words, and keeping it all very simple, and to be fair a very little amount of words on the page anyway. Compared to Q which have a cover filled with many layers of text. The language in Q magazine is still not overly complicated but it is more sophisticated and there is a lot lot more of it compared to NME. These themes fit with the artists that the magazines feature, NME have more JAY-Z, Oasis, Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters etc, which are older more mature artists compared to NME who frequently include Arctic Monkeys, Jamie T, Mark Ronson, Jake Bugg etc.

Why i have chosen Bauer Media Group I have chosen Bauer media group because they have over 500 different published magazines in different genres. Some of the most popular are HEAT, which is a popular culture magazine, they have Q which is a successful popular Indie/Alternative music magazine. i beleive this company would be most suitable due to the fact they have huge experience and have many popular magazines in all genres ranging from cars, music, culture etc.
